- For fully licensed drivers, there are two ways you can use a mobile phone while driving. The first is if the phone is secured in a commercially manufactured and designed mounting that is fixed to the vehicle and doesn't obscure your view of the road. If your phone is mounted in a cradle, you can use it to make and receive audio calls, to play audio, or as a driver's aid such as navigation.
The second way you can use your phone legally is when it is not in a cradle and it is being used hands-free, for example, through Bluetooth or voice activation. When using your phone in this way, you must not touch any part of the phone, and it can only be used for making and receiving audio calls and playing audio.
