The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. government have donated two additional high-voltage transformers to Ukrenergo, the Ukrainian national grid operator said on Facebook on Jan. 26.

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink underscored the U.S. government's commitment to supporting the Ukrainian national energy company. This support involves providing high-tech equipment, including additional transformers, to ensure continuous access to electricity for Ukrainians, especially during the winter.

The newly donated equipment has already been installed at Ukrenergo facilities in regions that were affected by Russian missile attacks last winter. Transformers play a crucial role in the energy infrastructure, ensuring the reliability of electricity supply. The delivery of such transformers usually takes about a year. These two donated transformers mark the initial phase of a humanitarian aid project, which aims to provide Ukrenergo with a total of 16 similar devices from USAID.
