The actor plays Kevin Pearson in the NBC drama, and speaking recently, he teased a "moment of great significance" which will affect the whole Pearson clan this season.
"There's going to be a moment of great significance that happens that will change the course of everyone's relationship with everyone else," Justin told TV Line.
"I mean, I'm trying to think of someone who's not affected by it.
"Randall, Kate, Kevin for sure, Mom, Miguel, even. He does have some cool stuff coming up.
"Jack is about the only one it doesn't affect – because he's dead."
The actor – who was previously married to Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause – referred to the twist as "a stressful, pressure-filled moment".
"If Kevin were going to paint one of his awful paintings, the inspiration would be hero and family and just following through, honour, that kind of stuff," he went on to add.
"You'll see a lot of that coming up. It's really cool."
Justin's comments follow fan concerns about a certain character's welfare after they were missing from the season 5 flashforwards.
They also follow This Is Us executive producer Ken Olin teasing the "fallout" from Kate's (Chrissy Metz) baby secret.
Buckle up, fans.
This Is Us returns tonight (January 5) for more episodes on NBC in the US, while Amazon Prime Video carries the show in the UK.
