Local news outlets based in northern Syria reported on October 9 that six armored vehicles bearing US flags had traveled toward the Kurdish-controlled city of Kobani, in Aleppo.
Videos posted to Twitter and Facebook show a patrol unit made up of six armored vehicles traveling across fields before reaching a road on which they travel north toward the city.
On the night of October 6, the White House released a statement saying that President Donald Trump had earlier that day spoken with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. “Turkey will soon be moving forward with its long-planned operation into Northern Syria," the statement said.
