Residents of a Kentucky seniors facility were practicing social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic on March 19, but connected through song, stepping outside their doors for a rendition of the Stephen Foster classic My Old Kentucky Home.
Footage from Legacy Reserve at Fritz Farm in Lexington shows the moment residents came out to wave at their neighbors and enjoy the music together.
Jacqueline Kennedy, Director of Sales and Marketing at the home, told Storyful: “We are practicing social distancing but uniting with our voices and love for each other, our community, and Kentucky!”
As of 5 pm on March 18, Kentucky had tested 489 people for COVID-19, and 35 people were confirmed to have contracted the virus, according to government data. Credit: Legacy Reserve at Fritz Farm via Storyful
