SINGAPORE – In Japan, Fast Retailing's Uniqlo make headlines earlier in June this year when it introduced Airism face masks made with high-tech material, and the masks were sold out within hours.

Now fans can get their hands on the coveted Airism mask at all stores in Singapore and online at uniqlo.com on 24 August.

What we know about the face mask

The Airism mask comes with a triple-layer structure, including a filter that delivers a bacterial filtration efficiency of 99%, blocking bacteria and pollen. The other two layers sandwiching the filter is made of Airism mesh fabric. In addition, the triple-layer has UV Cut UPF50+.

The Airism Mask is machine washable with just your regular household detergent. According to Uniqlo, an internal testing conducted proved that the filter inside the triple-layer structure retains its efficacy after 20 washes.

On the surface, the Airism mask feels silk-smooth, free of the texture of your typical non-woven and cotton masks.

Available in three sizes and two colours

The company has created the following three sizes for use, and the masks come in black and white colours:

Size S: 18cm x 12cm (For children)

Size M: 22cm x 14cm (For small adult faces)

Size L: 23cm x 14.5cm (For regular adult dimensions)

One pack contains three masks of the same colour and size and retails at S$14.90. There is a daily purchase limit per person at one pack of Airism Mask for every size and colour. It is also advisable to supervise children wearing face masks.
