Face masks are now very much a part of everyday life.
Many of us have a variety to choose from - depending on where we’re going and what we’re wearing - some of us have accumulated matching face masks for each new outfit we buy, and some of us are fine with wearing blue disposable versions.
But, the fact still remains the same for all of us, whether you’re keen on splurging or not, face masks are here to stay.
Back in September, Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed that he was extending the rules on face coverings in England, making their use mandatory for retail staff, taxi passengers and hospitality customers.
Before now, the wearing of face coverings in England was not mandatory for workers in shops and supermarkets, although it was required of customers.
And though they may seem new to us, in other countries checking you have your face mask has long been just as commonplace as checking you’ve got your keys and phone.
So, when it comes to investing in cutting-edge masks, it’s best to look to those countries for guidance.
Buy it: AIRism Face Mask | £9.90 from UNIQLO
As functional as they are fashionable, these unisex masks use innovative techniques to optimise performance every single day.
Light and thin, but super soft and just as protective, the masks have proved wildly popular in Japan since they went on sale in June, and subsequently in Australia, Indonesia, and the U.S.
On the U.S website there are currently almost 500 reviews, customers saying: “I bought the black ones in a medium for me. They’re great! I can breath through them so I forget I have them on.”
While another added: “These are, by far, the best fitting masks I own. They immediately became my go-to mask. The three layers give me peace of mind. The fit is perfect. They remain comfortable for long wear.”
So, how does it work?
The AIRism Mask uses a triple-layer structure, the first layer of AIRism Mesh fabric is smooth and breathable.
The second layer filters out up to 99% of particles, blocking droplets and offering protection from bacteria and pollen.
The third layer also uses AIRism mesh fabric for even better breathability and comfort - and for those of us who have worn a face mask for an elongated period of time - we all know breathability and comfort is a must.
The machine-washable mask also continues to wick away moisture, release heat and absorb sweat while maintaining a smooth feel all day.
The masks come in packs of three, in white, grey and black, and in sizes small, medium and large so that you can fit it snuggly - and comfortably - to your face shape.
