UNHCR Distributes Aid to Refugees in South Sudan
The UNHCR in South Sudan said it has been dealing with “tens of thousands of people” who had sought refuge in Sudan now fleeing the violence there, back across the border to South Sudan.
Tens of thousands of refugees who had been living in Sudan have fled the country since fighting broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the UNHCR said.
The South Sudanese refugees, along with others from Ethiopia and Eritrea, had “found shelter in existing refugee camps further east and south, creating new humanitarian challenges,” the UNHCR said. Credit: UNHCR South Sudan via Storyful
