Underwater Photographer Gets Up Close With Shark Off Melbourne's Mornington Peninsula

An underwater photographer captured footage of her close encounter with a broadnose sevengill shark while diving off Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne, Victoria, on June 4.

PT Hirschfield from Pink Tank Scuba captured this video showing the shark as it approaches her and turns away.

Hirschfield told Storyful the shark was likely drawn to the area by chicken carcasses that had been dumped in the water off the pier for the Australian spider crab, who were in the Mornington Peninsula on their annual moulting phenomenon. Credit: PT Hirschfield/Pink Tank Scuba via Storyful
