KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 28 — Fresh from being sacked from Umno yesterday, former youth and sports minister Khairy Jamaluddin appeared to have a possible prospective role in football and youth for Johor.

Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Ibrahim posted tonight on his social media channels a photo of him standing side by side with Khairy, with the photo featuring the words "Future JDTFC CEO and Johor Youth adviser @khairykj."

In teasing these roles as being Khairy's next position, the regent of Johor also included the words "Experienced, proven, why not..." in the Facebook post.

JDTFC refers to the Johor Darul Ta'zim Football Club, which is owned by Tunku Ismail.

Tunku Ismail had also posted the same photo on his Instagram Story, with Khairy responding by resharing the photo on his own Instagram Stories along with the added caption: "One door closes, others will open. Sustenance is in the hands of God."

It is unclear if this is actually an official announcement or a hint of a possible future in Johor for Khairy.

This was followed by Tunku Ismail's resharing Khairy's comment on his Instagram Stories as the third photo, with a new caption of of "To God we leave it all".

Last night, Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan announced the sacking of former Selangor Umno chief Tan Sri Noh Omar and former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin as party members due to alleged breaches of party discipline according to Umno's constitution.

Both have since claimed the party did not follow proper internal procedures for the move.
