‘Umno outcasts’ Khairy and former Info chief Shahril set to have new political podcast

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 — Khairy Jamaluddin is all set to take his new on-air career to a new level with a new podcast, which he labeled “Malaysia’s hottest political podcast” starting in March.

The former health minister today announced a weekly political podcast, called Keluar Sekejap with Shahril Sufian Hamdan in an Instagram story.

“Malaysia’s hottest political podcast dropping first week march featuring two Umno outcasts weekly,” reads Khairy’s Instagram story.

Last month, Umno sacked Khairy as party members due to alleged breaches of party discipline according to its constitution.

The party also imposed a six-year suspension on its former information chief, Shahril.

The announcement of the podcast comes a day after Khairy’s debut on Hot FM’s Bekpes Hot morning segment.

The former Rembau MP’s first appearance on the show yesterday saw a major increase in Hot FM’s digital streaming and pageviews.

The station, however, today announced that Khairy will only be co-hosting the show alongside Johan, Fara Fauzana and AG on Mondays from now on.

It said in a statement that the decision was due to Khairy’s busy schedule and commitments after his appointment as the Johor state youth advisor, while also taking up a management role at Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club.
