KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 9 — Umno information chief Isham Jalil said that the decision by Umno supreme work council to sack three of their grassroots’ leaders is an effort to put out leaders who remain as ‘api dalam sekam’ (fire in the husk) in the party.

Isham via his Facebook posting said that the decision was made as the concerned leaders want to see the party in a state of destitute and be dependent on others.

“I also had a dream last night. I dreamed that in our house there was a fire in the husk. The fire wants to burn our house so that we go and stay in other people’s house. That other person is the master of this fire and he has long wanted to burn our house and drive us out of our own house.

“Before our house is burn down, we need to put out the fire in this husk. Only then our home is safe and our family will be happy. May God have mercy on all of us,” he said.

Isham said that in response to Ketereh Division Umno Chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa’s statement, who alleged that Umno is now likened to a heritage house which is on fire after he was reported being sacked from the party.

Annuar said the fire had caused many of its residents to flee, but those who tried to put out the fire were pulled out of the ravaging flames, explaining that those who trying to safe the party was thrown out.

Isham also advised Annuar to be patient with all decisions, referring to the results obtained by Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 15th general election.

“Perhaps Tan Sri (Annuar) dreamed of becoming a minister again, but it didn’t happen and there was no sustenance. It doesn’t matter, be merry with God’s provisions. We are only human beings who strive, if God does not allow it, then that is the reason.

“Winning is important, but how we win is more important, if the source of the victory is not a blessing, then we have to face kifarah (God’s judgement),” he said.

On November 13, Umno had suspended the Arau and Maran Wanita Umno division chiefs for supporting candidates of an opposing party in GE15.

Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said then that Arau Wanita Umno chief Datuk Seri Shamsiah Yasin and Maran Wanita Umno chief Datin Seri Fatimah Kassim were being relieved of all their party posts.

Umno also sacked three former MPs including Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim, former Padang Besar MP Datuk Seri Zahidi Zainul Abidin and former Maran MP Datuk Seri Ismail Abd Muttalib for contesting against the party in the election.
