UMLand maximises residents’ sense of living with high-end ‘niche’ developments
A regular nominee at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) in recent years, UMLand took gold in one of the evening’s most competitive residential categories at the 2020 virtual gala dinner in September.
After tasting success with Taman Seri Austin, which was awarded Best Township Development (Malaysia) in 2018, and the coveted Best Housing Development (Malaysia) title for Aster 2 – Double Storey Semi-Detached House in 2017, 2020 was the first time the 25-year-old has picked up a major award for a condominium development.
The award-winning Amber Heights is the first high-rise residential project located within UMLand’s maiden township Bandar Seri Alam.
Upon completion in 2022, the Johor-based development will feature 240 units, averaging about 1,000 square foot, set across two 16-storey towers and surrounded by green space.
Residents will have access to an array of amenities including a resort-style clubhouse, swimming pool, function room, fitness centre, basketball court and plaza for social gatherings.
“A Johor township gem of a condo development, Amber Heights by UMLand Seri Alam impresses with an intelligently designed resort-style clubhouse sitting in the centre of the triangular plot, between two residential towers,” the judges noted. “A linear park and outdoor spaces are reached from here, maximising the sense of living amid greenery.”
The developer, whose high-end ‘niche’ residences and land bank — earmarked for future mixed-use projects and townships — spans key markets throughout Malaysia, was also victorious in three of the Special Recognition categories, namely Special Recognition for Environmental, Social & Governance, Special Recognition for Corporate Social Responsibility and Special Recognition for Building Communities.
Highlighting UMLand’s commitment to ESG, the judging panel noted that it is “dedicated to sustainable development and undertakes replanting activities and creates environmental partnerships, while reflecting this concept in corporate values with a commitment to professional development and staff benefits.
“On a social level, initiatives include a cycle-connected township and supporting humanitarian efforts to tackle toxic pollution in the Kim Kim River.”
In addition to the launch of both Block A and Block B at Amber Heights, the developer unveiled Jasper Residenz, a collection of 102 two-storey terraced houses in 2019, whilst also handing over a series of other residential projects. These included the second phase of Opal Residenz and 586-unit Citrine Residenz.
The company is set to unveil two more phases of landed homes targeted at upgraders this year, namely Topaz Residence and Phase 3C2. Topaz Residence will offer 150 double-storey terraced houses with built-ups ranging between 2,152 and 2,177 sq ft. Meanwhile, Phase 3C2 will comprise 199 double-storey terraced houses with built-ups from 1,650 to 1,750 sq ft.
With this future activity in Bandar Seri Alam’s residential zones expected to begin in 2021, UMLand will be hoping to convert this year’s Highly Commended accolade in the Best Mega Township Developer into a Winner’s trophy at future Asia Property Awards (Malaysia) events.
