Ulrika Jonsson has said she feels “huge relief” that her 13-year-old son has finally been granted settled status in the UK.

The Swedish-born former Gladiators star, 53, had Malcolm with her ex Brian Monet, who is from the US.

The teenager has just returned from the US and Jonsson posted a message on Instagram saying she had been told he now has settled status, meaning he can remain in the UK indefinitely.

Sharing a picture of Malcolm playing with a lightsaber, she wrote: “Tonight I had a 27 min instruction on lightsabers from the youngest Ungrateful. He has just returned from the States where he custom made one. Himself.

“This is important because today I was told by the @ukhomeoffice that this half-yank, half-Viking boy has been given leave to stay in this country for an indefinite period.

“Which is a huge relief because the thought of having him adopted abroad was gonna be messy," the star went on.

"So thank you, UK for letting me keep him by my side.”

“And if anyone is interested in lightsabers, you know where to find the bugger,” Jonsson joked.

The TV star married advertising executive Monet in 2008 and in 2019 it was announced that they had divorced.

Jonsson is also mum to son Cameron, 26, from her former marriage with John Turnbull.

She also has two daughters: 21-year-old Bo from her relationship with Markus Kempen, and 17-year-old Martha from her marriage to Lance Gerrard-Wright.
