Ukrenergo set consumption limits for all Ukrainian oblasts throughout the day on June 5, resulting from resources' shortage in the stored energy system, the company reported on Telegram.

Distribution system operators will use hourly outage schedules to comply with the limits.

Exceeding the electricity consumption limits may cause emergency shutdowns for all categories of consumers, Ukrenergo warned.

Emergency power cuts were applied in Kyiv on June 4 due to this reason. Capital citizens had power supply three times for two hours in a day.

Kyiv has faced the most difficult situation with electricity supply in recent days, Yasno CEO Serhiy Kovalenko explained on June 4.

Ukrenergo was informed about the emergency power cuts coming into effect in Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, and Khmelnytskyi oblasts, as well as in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, warning of possible critical infrastructure shutdowns in this case. Rivneoblenergo and Prykarpattiaoblenergo also reported emergency power cuts.

Ukrenergo applied emergency blackouts from 2:25 p.m., schedules blackouts came into force for household and industrial consumers from 2:50 p.m. in these oblasts. A warning about possible critical infrastructure facilities power supply interruptions was issued.

The Trypillia TPP in Kyiv Oblast was destroyed in an April 11 Russian attack, resulting in a 100% loss of Centrenergo's generation.

DniproHES lost both power plants in March 2024. The dam survived, but the equipment was destroyed, the restoration of the Dnipro HPP will take years.

The TPP-5 in Kharkiv was destroyed. Its restoration is equivalent to building a new plant, which will also take years.

Kharkiv Oblast's Zmiivska TPP (Centrenergo) was destroyed.

DTEK Group (owned by Rinat Akhmetov) reported an 80% loss in generation.

All units of the Burshtyn and Ladyzhyn TPPs were damaged.

A gas storage facility in western Ukraine also suffered damage.

Two HPPs were decommissioned as of May 9.

Controlled emergency power outages were introduced in all Ukraine's oblasts from May 14.
