Ukrainian President Visits Wounded Soldiers in New York Hospital
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited wounded Ukrainian soldiers at a New York City hospital on Monday, September 18, ahead of the United Nations General Assembly.
Zelensky presented awards to several soldiers and thanked them for their service.
He watched the injured soldiers practicing their walking, lifting weights, and moving their prosthetic limbs.
In a statement on his social media account, Zelensky said he was “grateful to the team of doctors” helping the men recover.
Zelensky was due to speak at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, September 19.
