Ukrainian service members cheer for Eurovision win

STORY: Ukraine were in fourth place based on jury voting but viewer support catapulted Kalush Orchestra, the country's entrant and their song "Stefania", into first place.

The winners traditionally get to host the event the following year and Vitaliy, a Ukrainian serviceman who only provided his first name, was upbeat they would be in a position to do so in 2023.

"We have shown that we can not only fight, but we can also sing very nicely. For the next Eurovision, we will host it in liberated Mariupol,” he said.
