Ukrainian airline ditches skirts and heels

This Ukrainian airline has ditched skirts, heels and tight shirts

after collecting feedback from flight attendants about their uniforms

SkyUp Airlines' new look includes loose trousers and sneakers

Alexandrina Denysenko says the job is physically demanding

and that she sometimes has no spare moments to sit down

SKYUP AIRLINES SENIOR FLIGHT ATTENDANT, ALEXANDRINA DENYSENKO, SAYING:

"High heels look beautiful, I won’t argue with that. But feet suffer and swell by the end of the flight. Sneakers are absolutely cool, what else can I say? It’s super comfortable because your feet are not elevated. And even if there is swelling during the flight, it causes minimum discomfort."

SkyUp decided to ditch what they called ‘conservative’ elements

including a tight bun or ponytail, which will be replaced by braids

HEAD OF SKYUP AIRLINES MARKETING DEPARTMENT, MARIANNA GRYGORASH, SAYING:

"We found out that even though the image of a female flight attendant is very romanticized, their job demands a lot of physical training. Cabin crew is responsible for security. That is why uniform must be comfortable as they move around. It was the most important thing. Caring about our crews was essential for us."
