Ukrainian Air Force Command appoints Illya Yevlash as new spokesperson, replacing Yuriy Ihnat

Illya Yevlash, spokesman for the Eastern Troop Grouping, has become the new spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, the Air Force reported on Telegram on March 18.

Yevlash will head the public relations service of the Air Force Command in accordance with the decree of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine dated March 15, 2024.

Yevlash served as a senior public relations officer in the Ground Forces Command, headed the press service of the Kyiv Defense Forces Grouping and the press service of the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troop Grouping.

Commander Mykola Oleshchuk announced on March 16 the dismissal of Yuriy Ihnat as spokesman for the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"Today, I will thank Colonel Ihnat for the fifth time," he said.

“I would like to thank him for his productive work as the Head of the Public Relations Service of the Air Force Command. He will remain in the Air Force and will work in another area no less successfully. I have no doubt about it! Wherever I may be, I am sure I will thank him many more times.”

Colonel Yurii Ihnat had been the head of the Air Force press service since 2018.
