Ukraine downs Russian Su-25 attack aircraft in Donetsk Oblast — General Staff

The Ukrainian military is working to exhaust and deter Russian Armed Forces, successfully shooting down a Russian attack aircraft in the Pokrovsk sector, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Facebook on June 10.

Preliminary losses of the Russian army in the Pokrovsk sector amounted to 198 killed and wounded.

“Su-25 aircraft, one tank, an armored combat vehicle, a cannon and four vehicles were destroyed,” Ukrainian General Staff said.

The most difficult situation remains in the Pokrovsk sector, Donetsk Oblast

Enemy tried to break into through combat formations of the Ukrainian defenders 21 times near Yevhenivka, Novooleksandrivka, Novopokrovske, Yasnobrodivka, Umanske and Karlivka. Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 19 enemy attacks. Two more fights are ongoing near Novooleksandrivka and Novopokrovske.

Pokrovsk sector situation

Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi on May 6 said that the main strike force of Russian troops were concentrated in the direction of Kurakhove and Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast.

DeepState analysts on May 25 reported that Russian troops advanced near three settlements in Donetsk Oblast in the last 24 hours - Arkhangelske, Umanske, and near Ocheretyne.

On June 6, Nazar Voloshyn, a spokesman for Khortytsia Strategic-Operational Group of Troops, said that the Russian army is trying to continue its offensive on Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Selidove in Donetsk Oblast, and is likely to seize a “vital road” to Kostyantynivka.

Ukrainian Armed Forces on June 8 noted that in the Pokrovsk sector, 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade was holding back at least three Russian combat brigades.
