UK teens aged 16 and 17 expected to be offered Covid vaccine

Covid vaccines are set to be approved for 16- and 17-year-olds across the UK. Nicola Sturgeon said on Tuesday that she was expecting updated JCVI guidance. Around 1.4 million teenagers will be included in the new vaccine rollout which many teens are excited to take part in. Many young people already have access to the jab including ages 16 and 17 with underlying health conditions and children aged 12 to 15 with certain conditions that make them vulnerable to Covid. According to new NHS data, 223,755 under 18’s in England have received their first dose of the vaccine. .
