UK 'right to be frustrated' over migrant crossings

As pressure mounts on the government to take action, Sunak said that the UK's immigration minister Chris Philp will be visiting France next week to hold talks on "stronger measures as required to stop and reduce the tide of boats coming."

"We all want to see these crossings reduced and pending the outcome of those conversations, we can decide on the best next steps to take," he said in an interview with the BBC on Friday (August 7).

Border guards and coastguards in Britain and France have intercepted numerous attempted crossings in recent months as migrants have repeatedly tried to travel from destinations in Asia and Africa to Britain.
