JOHOR BAHRU, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- Property development and asset management firm UDA Holdings Bhd (UDA) plans to intensify its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities via UDA Cares as part of it giving back to the community's initiative.
Its chief executive officer Mohd Salem Kailany said UDA Cares comprises four core programmes, namely UDA Cares-Educational, UDA Cares-Entrepreneur, UDA Cares-Project RE and UDA Cares-Enriching Life.
“We are hoping to increase our CSR activities in the future but it also depends on the company's performance,” he told reporters after the ‘Run Re_Tree 2019’ programme here today.
He said UDA Cares focused mostly on UDA's development areas with the largest allocation being given to UDA Care-Educational under which the company adopted 12 primary and secondary schools.
Under the programme, each school received RM30,000 to organise student development programmes, he said.

“About 1,000 people participated in today's programme which aimed not only to promote a healthy lifestyle but also saw replanting of 300 trees under 'Plant A Tree' initiative,” he said.
UDA Cares-Entrepreneur encourages entrepreneurship activities among community members while UDA Care-Enriching Life is a 'zakat’ distribution programme, he added.
In another development, Mohd Salem said UDA planned to develop new residential projects in Desaru near Kota Tinggi and Bandar Uda Utama here.
"We are currently waiting for approval from Pengerang local authority to develop a 40-hectare site in Desaru while for Bandar Uda Utama, we plan to build mixed development project on the remaining 68 hectares of a 188-hectare site,” he added.
