STORY: Guterres met Ukrainian refugees in Moldova's capital on Tuesday (May 10), the second day of his visit to the country.
Guterres listened to the refugees at a center in the city, saying: "It's impossible to meet refugees and not to be deeply moved by their stories."
He also told journalists that there could be no military solution to the conflict in Ukraine.
According to United Nations data, more than 450,000 Ukrainians had fled to Moldova since the start of the conflict by May 8.
Moldova now faces serious economic problems, said Guterres as he called for support from the international community.
