A farmer took revenge on a fly-tipper who dumped 421 tyres on his land by emptying them back onto the culprit’s doorstep.

The rubbish was abandoned on Tuesday at a farm in Wigan, Greater Manchester, belonging to Stuart Baldwin – who captured the incident on CCTV.

Mr Baldwin, 56, put up a picture from the footage on social media and tracked down the alleged fly-tipper to a property near his farm. He gave him three days to clean up the mess.

However, when the deadline passed and nothing had been done, Mr Baldwin loaded the tyres into a truck used for his family’s recycling business and deposited them on the doorstep of the person he believed was responsible.

“Revenge is best served cold, isn’t it?” Mr Baldwin told MailOnline.

“I got sick of it so I thought I would do a bit back. I just thought ‘I’ve had enough of this’. Fly-tipping is horrendous – why should farmers put up with it? People in the community have called me a legend and a hero. Hopefully people will now think twice now about dumping on our land.”

Footage of Mr Baldwin’s actions, below, was posted online and has since gone viral.

The clip shows the tyres being tipped from a truck onto the pavement outside the alleged culprit’s property.

Social media users showed their appreciation for Mr Baldwin’s form of retribution. One said: “I have lost count of the number of days I wake up and find some low life has fly-tipped on our land. Good on you for finding the culprit.”

A Wigan council spokesman said it was investigating the incident and urged the public to contact the council if they have information relating to the fly-tipping incident.
