Tyler Perry Made a Rare Comment About Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Marriage

As there continues to be speculation surrounding the state of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's marriage after they haven't been spotted together publicly for months, one person who is in the couple's corner is Tyler Perry.  

On Wednesday, Perry, who is the godfather to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's 3-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, gave royal fans rare insight into the pair's relationship while attending the Paley Honors Gala. "They love each other," Perry told E! News on the red carpet. He continued, "They have a beautiful family and I just want the best for them."

When it comes to his personal relationship with Harry and Meghan, the filmmaker added, "It's a real, pure and beautiful friendship. I love them."

Perry's comments come after Harry addressed rumors that he and Markle were getting a divorce at theNew York Times's 2024 DealBook Summit on Wednesday. During the event, the prince was asked about how he deals with his and Meghan's relationship constantly being under a microscope following a series of recent solo outings.

"Apparently we've bought or moved houses 10, 12 times. We've apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it's just like, what?'" Harry said of the split rumors. "It's hard to keep up with, but that's why you just sort of ignore it. The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls. Their hopes are just built and built, and it's like, 'Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,' and then it doesn't happen." 

He added, "So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do."
