Two Killed in West Bank Shooting Near Huwara

Two people have died following a shooting near Huwara in the West Bank on Sunday afternoon, February 26.

Footage shared by Magen David Adom ambulance service, part of the Israeli emergency facilities, shows a heavy presence of armed forces near the shooting site in Huwara.

A statement from a Magen David Adom spokesperson said that the service was called to Route 60 near Huwara at 1:41 pm local time on Sunday and treated two victims in serious condition.

Israeli and Palestinian media later reported that two Israeli men died following the shooting. The shooter was Palestinian and remained at large, the reports added.

The reason for the shooting has not been established. However, Israeli media reported that Huwara and Route 60 have been the site of multiple shootings since the fall of 2022. Credit: Magen David Adom via Storyful
