Twin Sisters Celebrate Turning 102 Together — and Joke About Their Secret to Longevity

Twins Marilyn Wright and Madelyn Casper were born in 1922 — and they're still close over a century later

A set of centennial twin sisters are celebrating another big birthday together in Ohio.

Twins Marilyn Wright and Madelyn Casper celebrated their 102nd birthday on Sunday, Sept. 15, with a family gathering — which included their 13 combined children — in Sylvania, according to ABC affiliate WPLG.

“We feel very blessed to still have both of them with us,” Marilyn’s daughter, Julie Fox, told the outlet. “They’re both still in pretty good health, not only mental but physical too.”

As for their secret to living such a long life, Marilyn joked that about the importance of having “a cocktail before dinner,” before emphasizing a very important birthday message: the importance of being "kind to your neighbor."

Born in 1922, Marilyn and Madelyn were nicknamed ‘the Johnson twins’ growing up in Toledo’s Old West End. The sisters remain close and have kept in sync all these years later — even when they’re not physically together.

“We think alike, We do things even when we didn't live in the same city,” Marilyn told the outlet. “I’d get on the phone and I’d say, ‘Madelyn, I just made a meatloaf. I wish you could be here.’ She says, ‘I made one too.’ ”
