TVB producer not worried about casting Mat Yeung

17 Sep – TVB producer Amy Wong is not at all worried about casting Mat Yeung in her new drama, despite the actor's recent alleged DUI.

As reported on Mingpao, the producer who is set to begin filming her new series, "My Family Has No Hardship", stated that she is optimistic that production will not be hindered by Mat's yet-to-be-resolved case.

"According to past experience, it takes time for a case to be scheduled by the court. Meanwhile, we will take approximately three months to film this drama," she said.

As to whether she should worry that the public may boycott the series because of Mat, Amy stated that there will always be people who like one thing and dislike another.

"My casting decision was purely from the perspective of which actor could play the role the best," she added.

As to why Mat was absent from the press conference, Amy explained that the actor couldn't attend due to a clash in schedule.

It was last month that Mat crashed his car while on his way to work in the wee morning of 8 August, citing "exhaustion" as the cause of the accident. However, the actor only sparked more speculations of DUI after he declined to take a breathalyser test. He had since kept mum about the whole incident and avoided from speaking to the media.
