TVB has lost contact with Alex Mak

15 May – TVB Executive Virginia Lok has recently dismissed the idea that Alex Mak Hoi Ching was suspended from TVB over supposedly being arrested at a Hong Kong protest earlier.

As reported on Mingpao, Lok, who spoke to the media about the recent rumour, stated that Alex called her in mid-November last year before boarding the plane back to France, asking for an emergency leave as there was an urgent matter concerning his family.

"He asked for a few months off, but then we lost contact with him. We also could not contact his family," she said.

Lok also stated that the company only found out that he had recently updated his Instagram, and that they will try to contact him again.

It is noted that Alex had not been updating his Instagram account since November last year until recently on 30 April, when he shared the trailer of his new drama, "The Exorcist's 2nd Meter". He had since updated his Instagram account with new photos of himself, saying that he was on a break.

Alex, who grew up in Bordeaux, France, joined TVB after participating in the Mr Hong Kong competition in 2016, and qualifying in the top ten. He had since starred in several dramas including "Come Home Love", "Wife Interrupted" and "Wonder Women".
