TV station burns during Nigeria violence

**QUALITY AS INCOMING**

Television Continental's building went up in flames late Wednesday morning after youths stormed the premises and set it ablaze.

Angry voices were heard while TVC's morning show ''Your View'' was on air. The host suddenly called for a break and a Reuters witness who was watching heard one of the hosts say "they said hoodlums have entered our gate."

TVC is a private television station, believed by many to be owned by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos state. Tinubu is an influential political figure whose endorsement helped bring the last three Lagos governors to power.

Many people in Lagos also believe he owns the toll gate where the protesters where shot at.

Tinubu has never said that he owns TVC or the toll gate, despite widely held beliefs to the contrary.
