Tunnel Partially Collapses Due to Landslide Along Lake Como
A landslide caused the partial collapse of a tunnel in northern Italy on Friday, May 19, as the known death toll from flooding rose to 14.
Footage released by the Italian fire and rescue service shows an aerial view of the damaged infrastructure, and a pile of rubble inside the tunnel, which was along the road SP 72 in Varenna on the Lecco shore of Lake Como.
According to Il Giorno, boulders fell from a mountain onto the tunnel.
