IPOH, Feb 6 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives will be introducing the Tunas Usahawan Belia Desa Programme to assist rural youth, especially those from the B40 group, to start a business.
Its minister, Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof said the programme would be implemented soon, almost like in the case of the Tunas Usahawan Belia Bumiputera (TUBE) Programme, which was aimed at producing more young entrepreneurs towards improving their quality of life.
"I have issued an order for the ministry to implement a special scheme for rural youth keen to be involved in entrepreneurial activities, who will undergo five weeks of training before starting their business.
"The success of the youth who participated in the TUBE programme has been high, so we want to offer a similar programme for rural youth to increase their income through doing business, thus also contributing to economic generation in the country."
Mohd Redzuan said this to reporters after a ‘Casual Chat and Walkabout-with-the-Minister’ programme, organised by Dewan Perhimpunan Melayu Perak (DPMP) and participated by about 200 Bumiputera entrepreneurs, here, today.
