KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 8 — PAS said today it is confident that none of its MPs would voice their support for the federal government coalition led by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Islamist party's deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said he does not see any potential MPs shifting their support, despite three Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia MPs already backing Anwar.

“If among PAS members, I don’t see anyone. We have our meetings and I’m confident there is no one,” Tuan Ibrahim said when met by reporters at the Parliament building here.

The Kubang Kerian MP was responding to the question of whether there would be any PAS MPs shifting their support for the PH-BN administration.

Tuan Ibrahim added that Bersatu leaders have also met the party’s MPs, and he is confident that the party will take action against the MPs in question accordingly.

“It is just in terms of his (Gua Musang MP) support for the prime minister on the Budget, and we have told Bersatu to handle this issue.

“We are confident that Bersatu will act as it did previously.

“Let’s leave it to Bersatu, in terms of their membership (issues),” he added.

Yesterday, Bersatu’s Mohd Azizi Abu Naim declared his support for the prime minister and his unity government, just like his fellow Bersatu MPs Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan) and Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar).

The Gua Musang MP said his move to support Anwar had to be done for the sake and betterment of the people in his constituency.

In a statement posted on Facebook yesterday, he added that the move would allow his constituents to enjoy benefits and initiatives, including the upgrading of infrastructure facilities which he had requested for Gua Musang during his tenure.
