15. (SOUNDBITE) (English) RED BULL HEAD OF DRIVER DEVELOPMENT HELMUT MARKO SAYING

"Japan is a very enthusiastic motor sport land it didn't have successful driver in the last 10 years I would say. And now is Yuki comes young, ambitious and fast but also a very aggressive driver. I think it will be the youngest Formula One driver ever in Formula One, Japanese Formula One driver. So we believe he will be successful, he is already very popular a lot of people are watching F2 races at midnight or three o'clock in the morning. so I believe it will give the whole motor sport in Japan a big push."

STORY: Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda will drive for Formula One's Scuderia AlphaTauri in 2021, replacing Daniil Kvyat, the team announced on Wednesday (December 16).

Tsunoda finished third in this season's Formula Two Championship with Carlin, claiming seven podiums, two feature race victories and a win in a sprint race.

The 20-year-old will be the first driver who is born in or after 2000 to race for a Formula One team and the first Japanese driver on the grid since Kamui Kobayashi drove for the Caterham F1 Team in 2014.
