Tsai Ming-liang's "DAYS" selected as Taipei Festival's closing film

27 May – Tsai Ming-liang's "DAYS" has been selected as the closing film for the upcoming Taipei Film Festival.

The news was announced by the organiser on its official website, stating that the film, which won the Teddy Jury Award at the previous Berlinale and marked Tsai's 11th feature film, will be screened at the event on 11 July.

The film is also nominated for three major awards at the Taipei Film Awards this year, including Best Narrative Feature, Best Actor, and Best Director for Tsai himself.

"DAYS" is described as a "minimalist long takes of daily life" of two characters; the middle-aged middle-class man named Kang (Lee Kang-sheng), and the younger Non (Anong Hongheuangsy), who lives lacking in luxury.

On the other hand, Ko Chen-nien's first feature film, "The Silent Forest" will be the festival's opening film.
