Truss pays tribute to 'modern monarch'

Queen Elizabeth II, who was also the world's oldest and longest-serving head of state, died on Thursday (September 8) in Balmoral, Scotland.

On Tuesday (September 6), Truss had travelled to Balmoral to meet the queen and be appointed prime minister.

"She was dignified but not distant, she was willing to have fun," Truss said. "She brought the monarchy into people's lives and into people's homes."
