Trump addresses NRA members in Pennsylvania: Watch live
Former President Trump will headline the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) Presidential Forum on Friday in Harrisburg, Pa.
In his last address before the NRA in April, Trump pledged to be a “loyal friend” to the gun rights advocacy group and argued that legislation should be passed to ensure Second Amendment rights are protected.
“With your support, in 2024, I will be your loyal friend and fearless champion once again as the 47th president of the United States,” he said at the time.
His remarks Friday come one day after he emerged victorious from the caucuses in Nevada and the Virgin Islands — bringing his delegate count so far in the race to 62, according to election data from The Hill’s partner Decision Desk HQ.
Back-to-back wins in Iowa and New Hampshire, coupled with GOP rival Nikki Haley’s loss in the no-delegate Nevada primary to “none of these candidates,” underscore Trump’s dominance in the Republican race.
The next GOP contest will be later this month on Haley’s home turf: South Carolina.
Trump leads Haley, the former governor of the Palmetto State, by double digits in the state — 62.3 percent to 30.6 percent — ahead of the Feb. 24 primary, according to polling averages from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ.
Trump is expected to give his remarks to NRA members at 6 p.m. EST.
