Truckers rallied outside the White House in Washington on May 1, blasting their vehicles’ horns in protest of low wages amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
About 70 truckers lined up in front of the White House honking in hopes of attracting the attention of US President Donald Trump.
The economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on truckers across America, with the lowest rates for transport since 2009. Additionally, construction and manufacturing shutdowns have resulted in less cargo to transport.
