Truck Drivers Blast Horns in Dover as COVID Restrictions Delay Transport

Truck drivers stranded in Dover, England, blasted their horns in protest on Wednesday, December 23, as thousands remained stranded in Kent due to renewed restrictions imposed following the discovery of a new variant of the coronavirus in the UK.

In this footage, recorded by Patricia Berry, the noise of drivers sounding their horns can be heard. In a second clip, several drivers are seen making their way toward the dock by foot as stranded trucks line the road.

According to KentOnline, truck drivers have been stranded there since Sunday when France imposed a ban on UK imports. The ban was lifted Wednesday, but drivers must test negative at an airport 45 minutes away before making the trip to France.
