Heavy rains slammed the Tri-State area Wednesday night, September 1, just days after Hurricane Ida. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood emergency for northeast New Jersey and New York City. It was the first time that the office has ever had to issue a flash flood emergency. Videos posted on social media showed severely flooded buildings and streets across the region. The footage was filmed and posted on social media by @BronxAdjacent; NorthJersey.com.
