Will Travis Kelce attend VMAs to support Taylor Swift?
NEW YORK — It’s unlikely Travis Kelce will be in the crowd cheering Taylor Swift on at Wednesday’s MTV VMAs — where the pop star leads the nominations with 10 of her own — but he’s still pulling for her to come home with some moon men.
The Super Bowl champ vocalized his support for the Grammy winner, both 34, on the latest episode of “New Heights,” the podcast he hosts with big brother Jason Kelce.
“Hopefully Taylor can walk away with a few, she’s nominated for about 10 of those things tonight,” said the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. “Hopefully she can walk away with some moon men.”
Added the retired Philadelphia Eagles Center, 36: “Let’s go Tay, come on Tay!”
“Stay on top,” said Travis, who will probably only be supporting Swift from afar as he’s currently in the midst of in-season practices. “Wishing everybody the best though.”
Among the honors Swift is up for at the awards show — hosted at Long Island’s UBS Arena — are artist of the year and the VMAs’ most coveted category: video of the year (“Fortnight”).
Kelce’s remarks aired less than 12 hours after Swift publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris Tuesday in the upcoming presidential election.
“I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” said Swift, who highlighted the positions of Harris’ running mate Tim Walz, as he’s “been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”
Over the weekend, Swift and Kelce were spotted out and about on a date night in Brooklyn and decked head to toe in Gucci as they enjoyed themselves in a box at the U.S. Open men’s final.
