Formulae Prescott Tri-Balm is a must-have travel skincare buy. (Sephora UK/Yahoo Life UK)

As a beauty journalist, many of my favourite skincare products are totally unsuitable for travel.

Whether it's glass pots or supersized creams that are over 100ml, packing my carry on liquids bag can be a struggle.

That was until I discovered the Formulae Prescott Tri-Balm back in 2018, a deodorant-style twist up tube that's home to a unique three-in-one product.

A cleanser, exfoliant and moisturiser all in one, I've yet to travel without it since first trying it.

The ultimate multitasker, I would recommend it to anyone keen to travel without faffing about decanting your favourite products into tiny jars or squeezing multiple products into a plastic bag and panicking about getting it closed by the time you get to the security gates at the airport.

It makes some pretty big claims performance wise, so allow me to share with you why I think it's worth a spot in your holiday skincare routine.

💸 Reasons to buy

You may be thinking, how on earth can this stick cleanser, exfoliate and moisturise all at once?

Firstly, it's a solid balm formula that features a cocktail of ingredients to remove make-up and leave your skin silky smooth and hydrated.

The blend of botanicals oils, star flower and oat melt down make-up, SPF and sweat in seconds, transforming it into a luxurious oil that can be swiftly removed with a warm flannel. The addition of pumpkin seed enzymes creates a gentle scrub to get way dead skin cells and a healthy dose of hyaluronic acid provides a hit of hydration.

You can apply it with your fingers or directly onto the skin and thanks to the scent of germanium and mandarin, it smells like a spa.

My skin struggles with hormonal acne, rosacea and oiliness all year round, making it a pretty sensitive surface and prone to irritation. However it's never caused a breakout or left my skin feeling stressed.

I can happily leave my usual products at home and just bring this and SPF on holiday knowing it'll temporarily take care of my complexion (and save some weight in my suitcase).

Reasons to avoid

I have struggled to find a reason why you shouldn't buy this, other than it's £59 for a full-size, which obviously isn't cheap.

While expensive, it ticks all the boxes for a travel-friendly skincare routine and I would buy it over and over again. Not that you need to often as it lasts so long.

I recommend it to family and friends all the time, you simply cannot go wrong with it.

💰 Best deal we've found

Currently, there's no money off deals, however fear not, as it's available in two sizes, one cheaper than the other.

The full-size version costs £59 from Sephora UK or Debenhams, while the mini will set you back £33 from Debenhams - which is a great opportunity to save a bit of money and try it out before you commit to the bigger version.
