Actress Tracy Chu's latest photo stirred up pregnancy rumours

Hong Kong-born Canadian actress Tracy Chu’s Instagram post on 23 June ignited rumours of her being pregnant, with comments asking, “Are you with child?” flooding the photo.

Captioning her post “Smile big and laugh loud (while you still have teeth)”, the actress had posted a photo of her smiling at the camera, while wearing a flowy blue dress. While her tummy may not be obvious, many commented in Cantonese, asking, “Are you with child?” on the photo.

A similar photo of her in a flowy white dress was posted on 15 June, which had also caught the attention of her fans then, asking if she is pregnant.

Chu entered the 2012 Miss Hong Kong pageant and lost the title despite being a fan favourite. However, she emerged as the second runner-up partly due to technical difficulties in the voting system. Her first role with TVB was in the medical drama, The Hippocratic Crush II, acting opposite popular Hong Kong actor Lawrence Ng. Loved by both fans and the network, Chu proceeded to land roles in Tomorrow Is Another Day, Smooth Talker, and The Fixer, starring alongside huge names such as Joe Ma and Chin Ka-lok.

Taking a break from acting in September 2015, Chu enrolled full-time at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, pursuing a Master's Degree in Corporate Communication. The actress then enrolled into the City University of Hong Kong School of Law, pursuing a Juris Doctor degree in September 2016. After four years of school, Chu successfully became a barrister under Denis Chang’s Chamber in September 2020.

Despite her busy school schedule, Chu clinched her first lead female role in 2016 in Over Run Over, winning her the Best Actress and Most Popular Female Character awards in the TVB Anniversary Awards 2016.

In June 2019, it was reported that Chu was engaged, and the actress confirmed the relationship, having filed a Notice of Intention to marry her boyfriend, Dr Justin Ng. Their wedding party was subsequently held in Bali in August 2019, after which Chu faded out of the entertainment scene. Her latest work was a voice-only guest appearance in the 2020 drama Legal Mavericks 2020.
