Tottenham to greenlight ‘sensational’ forward exit as three Euro giants circle after Levy identifies one upside to transfer
Tottenham have been backed to surprisingly let one of their big-name attackers leave alongside Harry Kane this summer, with three Italian clubs reportedly eyeing a blockbuster transfer.
Kane will soon enter the final 12 months of his Tottenham contract. He could push to leave the club this summer following their turbulent campaign and amid the search for a new head coach.
Manchester United are known to be in the market for a new centre-forward and have earmarked Kane as a potential signing.
Erik ten Hag’s side will likely begin preliminary talks with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to see if he would be willing to sell Kane ahead of next season.
However, Man Utd will be wary of overpaying after Levy told Manchester City to put up a massive £150million for the England star in 2021.
If Kane proves to be too expensive, then Man Utd might turn their attention to Victor Osimhen of Napoli. Chelsea recently sent scouts to watch him, but it is Man Utd who are at the front of the queue to complete a massive deal.
It seems Kane is not the only Spurs forward who will be the subject of transfer rumours this summer. Last week, Spurs were tipped to sell Richarlison after just one season in North London.
Surprisingly, reigning Champions League winners Real Madrid were credited with an interest, as well as Inter Milan.
Richarlison to leave Tottenham for Italy?
Italian source Il Romanista have now provided an update on Richarlison’s situation. They claim Spurs could offload Richarlison to Italy, with Roma, Inter and AC Milan all settling on him as a summer target.
Richarlison would likely go to one of those three clubs on a season-long loan as none of them can afford to buy him outright. After all, Spurs spent an initial £50m to sign him from Everton last summer. And an extra £10m was payable depending on add-ons.
Even though it would be a loan, the potential transfer is described as being ‘sensational’ for Serie A. At 26 years of age, the Brazilian is theoretically at the peak of his powers, unlike some other strikers in Italy who are seemingly past their best, such as Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku.
The report notes that this shock transfer could actually benefit Spurs. It would allow Richarlison to get his confidence back by shining in a different league, away from the spotlight of the Prem.
He could then return to Spurs in summer 2024 as a more prolific and dominant striker. This could be essential for Spurs as if Kane does not leave this summer, then he will almost certainly do so at the end of his contract next year.
Despite the move making sense in some ways, it would be a surprise if Levy actually pulled the trigger on this one. Having spent over £50m to bring Richarlison in, Levy will not want to admit defeat so early on by letting him leave for Europe.
Plus, Spurs must also consider the wishes of their new manager, whoever it may be. Even though Richarlison has had a tough first season at the club, he could be deemed as an important player by Antonio Conte’s replacement.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Aston Villa have ‘concrete interest’ in signing a Spurs man this summer.
