Tory MP calls on government for long-term education plan

Conservative MP Robert Halfon has welcomed the government’s funding for extra tuition to help schoolchildren catch up on lost learning due to the coronavirus pandemic, but has said it is a “hefty starter” and not the “main course”. The Chair of the House of Commons Education Select Committee has called on the government to make a “serious long-term plan for education”.
