While trends come and go, our revere for Oprah remains eternal. Despite "The Oprah Winfrey Show" wrapping 10 years ago, her influence on our lives has never faltered. Which is why, when Oprah publishes her annual Favourite Things list each November, we pay attention.

New to her list this year is a pair of winter-friendly rain boots from Tory Burch. Available at Nordstrom for less than $300 (shop here in Canada, here in the U.S.), Oprah says, "you can count on Tory Burch to make boots built for rain and snow that are so good-looking, you'll want to wear them when there's nary a cloud in the sky."

Available in three funky colour-block designs in the U.S. and two in Canada, the Tory Burch Foul Weather boots are as practical as they are stylish.

"The colour on these brightens up a dark day or outfit, and they have a slip-resistant lug sole and a slight wedge inside for even more of an uplifting effect," the media mogul writes.

Featuring a 1.5-inch heel and a one-inch platform, the Tory Burch boots are a chic alternative to other clunky styles and can be easily dressed up with a cropped pant and trench coat.

While the luxe rain boots have yet to gather reviews from Nordstrom shoppers, as one of Oprah's favourite picks of the year, you can be sure they've earned her seal of approval for a good reason.
