Heavy rainfall from the remnants of Hurricane Ida flooded Jersey City, New Jersey, on September 1, as the storm took a catastrophic toll on the region.
At least 16 people died due to the storm in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, according to WTXF.

New Jersey Gov Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency in response to the severe weather.
