Torrential Rain From Hurricane Kay Causes Flooding in North Mexico
Hurricane Kay brought torrential downpours to the Baja California Peninsula in north Mexico on Wednesday, September 7, as the Category 1 storm’s center passed over.
This video showing floodwater blocking a road was released by the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation for Baja California Sur, who said it was filmed on a road between Cabo San Lucas and La Paz.
Mexico’s weather service reported maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h (93 mph) on Wednesday and warned the heavy downpours could cause flooding.
