Tornado researchers say a twister touched down near Leamington, Ont., on Tuesday
A tornado touched down late Tuesday afternoon in Leamington, according to researchers.
The Northern Tornadoes Project says based on video and photo evidence, along with radar, a twister hit around 5:35 p.m. ET in the area of Albuna.
"The parent storm was developing rapidly at that time and had no rotation on radar — making it a 'landspout'-type tornado," said the Western University research group in an online post.

The Northern Torandoes Project say no damage was reported, and it has no plans for a field survey at this point.
Significant rainfall was reported in the Leamington and Wheatley area on Tuesday — leading to flooding at a retirement home, displacing some residents.
Canada's first tornado of the season was back in March in the Amherstburg area.
